My Motivating Factor

While recently hospitalized, I found myself on the other side of the bedrail — “the patient” for the first time in my 30‑year nursing career. Even with all my experience, it was humbling. I knew the questions to ask and what to expect, yet I still felt the vulnerability that comes with relying on others. I also saw firsthand how hard our overburdened healthcare system can be on both patients and the people caring for them. That experience reminded me how important clear communication, gentle guidance, and small, steady steps toward wellness truly are — and it’s a big part of why I created this space. I want to prevent myself from ever having to experience that again and would like to help others prevent it as well.
